While I was replying to the blog thingy ma bob below, I was struck by an idea, does anyone recognise this quote phrase:
'The argument goes like this: ‘I refuse to prove that I exist,’ says God, ‘for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing.’ ‘But,’ says Man, ‘The Babel fish* is a dead giveaway, isn’t it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don’t. QED.’ ‘Oh dear,’ says God, ‘I hadn’t thought of that,’ and promptly disappears in a puff of logic.”
(*The babel fish is a make believe fish in the universe that is placed inside your ear and translates all alien langauages to put it simply :P)
Does anyone think that this coudl actually happen, that maybe the way of disproving god is to prove him? I find this arguement quite commical, but it does have some strength in it. If we found something that proved that god does exist beyond any doubt then, he wouldn't exist? Maybe that is why god refuses to give any absolute proof, he is scared of vanishing in a puff of logic :P
This was my first posty thingy, mainly for comical value, so sorry if I messed with the flow of this site, but it is quite philosophical :), you have to admit!
