Photorealism and The Value Of Art

These are all photorealistic paintings and pencil drawings. Consider your response to them and what this means for why we value art. Is it something to do with skill / the appreciation of technique / an understanding of the amount of time and work the artist put in / do we think the artist is like us or different to us / does it matter what the picture is of or about / does it tell us about the world or make us think about it in a different way?
